Anxiety is the dizziness of freedom

~ attributed to Kierkegaard but popularized by Rollo May, the American Existential psychologist.

I’m gonna get heavy on ya’ll for a sec concerning the Fort Hood situation since we don’t really get to the heart of it with the typical newspaper and television talking heads. The media outlets will tell you how he was screaming praise god as we see here in “The State” headlines this morning. And even though most of you will blow it off under the guise of Muslim religious motivation, let us not forget that the it was Christians (albeit, a far right Christian American Militia Movement) who blew up the Oklahoma City Building with similar outrage. It was just May of this year when a Montana Freedman shot an abortion doctor during a church service. You may not see it now, but these acts of violence are far too similar. They share an angry, psychologically unbalance, anxious person under, whom under the guise of religion and pressure from a lack of freedom, decide that he has no other options than but to take favor with violence.

Freedom is the key and I hate seeing this type of violence and polarization. Left, Right.. who gives a fuck? With this flow of free information comes a wave of disinformation because folks can now publish whatever agenda they want to whatever audience wants to listen. Everyone seems to think they are right and anyone who feels anxiety is looking for someone to blame. Let’s not blame anyone other than ourselves. And let’s lead the world by showing how intelligently tolerant we are of human freedom. The nations unemployment hit a 26 year record high today and everyone’s gonna run around blaming politicians. Get over it, I think they’re trying their best on both sides of the isle. Again, blame yourself because if your family consumes tons of worthless imported shit from a company that outsources their labor for profit margin then you’re certainly not helping. You have the freedom to choose how and which companies make money. If you don’t like that Goldman Sachs is stuffing their war chest then make every effort not to support them.

I just don’t won’t folks out there to take the news carte blanche and I wanted to emphasize what I believe is the cause of the incident at Fort Hood, a lack of freedom. I do know that the condition of being human, which we all share is not unlike any other animal on this earth in that we all essentially have the ability for compassion and understanding. They say chickens are the stupidest animals around and we have some of the kindest chickens you ever met. The roosters don’t fight each other and they all eat from our hands. So let’s stop all the finger pointing, and religious zealotry and get to work on our local communities where we can actually make a difference. Yesterday I gave away two dozen eggs from the chickens we raise… One to a local nurse and another to an immmigrant family who work under tough conditions in a local chicken factory.

I believe the incident in Fort Hood could have been averted had they simply let him object to deployment and take a leave of duty, because that was his desire. And Please note that both the ‘right’ (Ayn Rand Objectivist) and the ‘left’ (Karl Marx) emphasize that human history is dominated by the human consciousness of freedom and individual rights.
